Wehen Wiesbaden getting stronger

Wehen Wiesbaden trail Sandhausen by two points in the Bundesliga 2 but are showing signs of improvement and we’re predicting them to claim victory and leapfrog them in the table.

Wehen have lost only one of their last five matches at home, which includes a 2-1 triumph over Stuttgart and positive results against top-half trio Darmstadt, Erzgebirge Aue and Darmstadt.

In fact, despite sitting third from bottom Wehen have lost only four of their last 13 league encounters and Rudiger Rehm has given then every chance of avoiding the drop.

Rehm’s side have tightened up drastically at the back – they have conceded more than once in only one of their last ten games – and they are a threat going forward thanks to the presence of 16-goal striker Manuel Schaffler.

Sanhausen’s struggles set to continue

Sandhausen’s form has tailed off dramatically and they are one of a number of sides in danger of being dragged into a relegation scrap.

Sandhausen are without victory in eight games and on Saturday they were held to a goalless draw at home to Jahn Regensburg, who had previously won just one of their nine away games.

Uwe Koschinat’s visitors have now fired blanks in five of their last eight games with top scorer Kevin Behrens having netted in only three of his ten appearances in 2020.

Four of the last five meetings have finished as draws, three of which were goalless, and that appears the best struggling Sandhausen can hope for.

Sandhausen have won just two of their 13 away league games this term and look likely to leave the Brita Arena empty handed.

Goals unlikely to be a factor

Both teams have scored in only one of the last six meetings between the pair and this looks like being another low-scoring affair.

Only four of Wehen’s last 15 league games has featured three or more goals, while the net has bulged three or more times in only three of Sandhausen’s 13 away trips.

Given the lowly position both teams find themselves in and the importance of the fixture, it is reasonable to expect the game to be settled by a fine margin.

Six of Wehen’s last nine games have been decided by a single goal and they would settle for a narrow home win here given their current predicament, leaving us eyeing up a 1-0 correct score prediction.
