Bochum vs Holsten Kiel Predictions & Tips

[ad_1]

  • Bochum have scored in all but one of their 14 home games this season, conceding in 12 of them.
  • Holstein Keil have seen both teams score in 17 of their last 21 Bundesliga 2 matches.
  • Seven of Bochum’s 14 home games this term have ended all square.
  • Holstein Keil have played out three 2-2 draws in their last six away games.

Bochum remain in relegation contention

Bochum managed to extend their unbeaten streak to five league matches on Sunday, but they will have hoped for more than a goalless draw upon visiting the relegation threatened Karlsruher.

Worse yet, despite this recent unbeaten run, the hosts sit just four points clear of the Bundesliga 2 relegation playoff position and the increasingly tight mid-table section has a lot of teams sweating as we approach the final stages of the season.

Visitors hitting the back of the net with ease

Holstein Keil are one of the safer teams in this category, sitting 10 points clear of 16th place and with an outside chance of challenging for promotion. However, with seven points separating them from 3rd placed Stuttgart it would take a very favourable run of results for a season in the top flight to become a genuine possibility.

Of course, the visitors thrilling 3-2 win over Stuttgart on Sunday did strengthen their position considerably, also extending their unbeaten run to three league games.

This is largely thanks to their fantastic scoring record which has seen them score in all but one of their last 21 Bundesliga 2 outings. Unsurprisingly this has seen their own goalkeeper picking the ball out of the net with regularity too, keeping just three clean sheets in this 21 game run.

Clean sheets at a premium at Vonovia Ruhrstadion

Bochum have a similar record at home as well. They have found the net in 13 of their 14 home league games this season, but their 3-0 win over Heidenheim last weekend was just their second home clean sheet of the campaign. All things considered, we’re predicting both teams to score on Wednesday.

We’re also expecting a high scoring draw from two of the draw specialists in the Bundesliga 2. Half of Bochum’s home games this season have ended all square, and with three of Holstein Keil’s last six away games ending 2-2, that’s what we’re backing for our correct score prediction.
